They have wireless phone chargers on the credenza of the wall which is excellent service upon walk in! Food is quality Sichuan and we were craving that spicy numbing flavor when we ordered the braised beef belly which was EXCELLENT. Very family style with larger tables in the back that have lazy Susans. The beef melts in your mouth GOOD. Perfect amount of spice and flavor that you just know you'll be craving this place. Will definitely return to try the other dishes.
Really good and authentic. Dishes can be really spicy so ask for less spicy if you need. Servers were able to recommend some dishes to us and were very kind. I got the Sichuan boiled fish and I am still thinking about it 1 month later!
Al though I've been to Asian Family Mart many times but somehow I never pay attention there was a restaurant. I had the stir fried beef with chili and dry pot cauliflower, and jelly with brown sugar sauce for dessert. The beef was nice and tender, seemed like they prepped it before cooking. The chili was spicy but not overwhelming, so I could still enjoy the tasty beef. With the cilantro, the dish had a balanced meaty and veggie fragrance. Dry pot is probably the best method to cook cauliflowers as they have a slight starchy texture. Cauliflowers were crunchy and flavorful, make sure to stir and mix yourself a bit so they can absorb and heat better. It was a hearty savory dish for colder day as the flame kept the food warm. Jelly with brown sugar sauce was the perfect ending of my out meal. It was light, I love the hawthorn candy on it, they added extra flavor and fun to eat. I wish it could be a bit colder or even icy. The staff were friendly and I can ordered in Chinese. Not only the food was tasty, the restaurant was also giving me a authentic "restaurant from China" vibe as during my visit, I could here a group of my fellas talking drinking and cheering loudly all the way from another side of the place. What a nostalgic day.
This place does not skimp on the spice (that's probably evident from the name). They're in a big plaza next to the family mart and Kiki's bakery, so there's plenty of parking. They aren't usually too busy but I've seen a wait for weekend dinner. We love almost every dish we've tried here, except maybe the tea duck and seafood casserole. I think they do best with meat dishes and, of course, anything with mala spice. We've enjoyed the bean paste pork, drypot, green beans, mapo tofu, achoy, and chicken soup. The stir fried beef is REALLY spicy. It has a healthy serving of jalapeños. I need to remember to ask for less spicy here.
Still solid 5-stars, but new dish recommendation! If you haven't had their Celtuce dish... I would say you are severely missing out. It combines the previous recommendation (twice-cooked pork) but also adds a delicious crunchy vegetable, that only makes it better! I've never had it before, and would never order it if it weren't for a recommendation from a friend. Trust me on this--order the stir-fried pork with dried celtuce. You won't regret it!
